Deposits in Someone Else's Name
The name on the deposit has to be the name on the account, and no operator bends on it. Joint accounts usually pass if you are a named holder; prepaid cards bought with cash usually do not, because nothing ties them to a person. Expired ID and Renewal Timing
An ID that expired last month is refused outright, and the six-month rule destination countries enforce at the border has nothing to do with it — casinos only require the document to be valid on the day it is reviewed. That matters if your passport lapses mid-review: submit at least four weeks clear of the expiry date. Canadian passport renewals are quoted at 20 business days by mail and about 10 in person, and Service Canada's receipt is not itself identification. Changing Your Email, Phone or Password
Security edits trigger a hold of their own. Most operators freeze withdrawals for 24 to 48 hours after the registered email, phone number or password changes, because an account takeover almost always begins with exactly that edit, and some ask for the photo ID again before lifting the freeze. Make those changes in a quiet week rather than the morning a cashout is due. Use an authenticator app instead of text-message codes: a SIM swap hands an attacker the code and the recovery route together. If a chat agent offers to change the registered email without any check, stop and escalate.
Two Players Under One Roof
Couples and roommates can play at the same casino from one home connection, but the pairing has to be on record before it surfaces in a payout review. Write to support from each account, name the other player, ask for the two files to be linked as a declared household, and keep the ticket number. From there each person needs their own documents and a payment method in their own name. No shared card, and no transfers between the two accounts, because money moving sideways reads as one person. What You May Black Out on a Statement
A reviewer needs four things from a bank statement: your name, your address, the institution's name and the date. Everything else can be covered. Blacking out individual transactions is normal and will not get a document refused, and hiding the balance is usually accepted too. What does get a file returned is obscuring a corner that contains part of the address, cropping the header with the bank's logo, or sending one page from the middle of a statement carrying no identifying information at all. Send the first page whole, with only the transaction lines obscured.
When No Bill Is in Your Name
Address proof assumes a household where the utilities are yours. Plenty of Canadian players live with family, sublet, or rent a room where nothing is billed to them, and the standard document list simply does not exist for them. Operators accept alternatives more often than they advertise: a bank statement, a mobile phone account, a tax slip, an insurance certificate, a signed lease, or correspondence from a provincial body. Ask support which of these the licence permits before uploading three documents that will all be refused for the same reason.
None of this is difficult; it is detail work that punishes shortcuts. Spend twenty minutes early and the money moves when you ask for it.
